
Nathan Bryson, a native of
Brevard, North Carolina is the youngest member of the staff at Cornel
Zimmer Organbuilders. His responsibilities are as varied as his
interests and include sales, assisting Jim Twyne with on-site voicing,
and electronics.
At age eight Nathan began studying piano with Rachel Kahl of Brevard,
NC. He continued his study with Jane Dill at Southern Wesleyan
University, graduating in May of 2004 with degrees in music as well as
computer science. During his four years at SWU he was active in the
Concert Choir, Chamber singers, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. He began
studying organ while at Southern Wesleyan under Jane Dill as well as
studying Carillon with Clemson University Carilloneur, Dr. Linda Dzuris.
After his junior and senior years of college Nathan served as an
apprentice learning the art of pipe voicing and applying his knowledge
of computers to console control systems in the electrical shop. He was
also privileged to attend the AGO National convention in Los Angeles
during his second internship.
Nathan's travels have taken him over much of the eastern seaboard
including conventions in South Carolina and Florida. Internationally he
has toured with the choir of St. Lukes, Atlanta, GA to London and
Bristol, England performing at St. George's Chapel at Windsor castle and
the Bristol Cathedral. He also spent a week visiting historic organs in
Paris. Nathan also spends time in Philadelphia, PA working as a member
of the Wanamaker Symposium, a group dedicated to restoring the largest
playing pipe organ in the world. |
